oh i've gotten lots of 24, and one 28.

here's one:
if you walk 50 steps, you can reuse the radar without breaking the chain
also, NEVER enter any squares which are 3 squares, 2 sq, or 1 away. Only settle for 4 away. also, never enter and patches that are in the same row or column as you.

that should be enough to keep you going for awhile.

btw there are some expert pokemon chainers who get 7+ shinies out of ONE chain lol

its possible to get any amount you want out of a chain. i've seen some people with chains over 120.
